The Ford F-250 and F-350 are the first Super Duty trucks in the F-series. While the F-150 and Ford Ranger probably take care of the hauling and towing needs of most folks, the Super Duty trucks can move mountains one huge load after another. In this comparison guide, we’ll show you why Ford Super Duty trucks are worth their weight.
What’s New for 2020?
First of all, the 2020 F-250 has an entirely new engine to offer in the form of a more powerful 7.3-liter gas V8 with 10-speed automatic transmission. And that same 10-speed can now be found on the diesel engine for better, more seamless acceleration. And just when you thought it was safe off the beaten path, the Tremor package turns this truck into an off-roader’s dream. Better still, the 2020 F-350 takes advantage of those new features, as well as wireless smartphone charging now available on Limited trim.
Powerful Engines
You now know about the new engine. What till you get a load of the unrelenting waves of power this latest contestant can unleash. Ford has announced that the 7.3-liter V8 delivers 475 horsepower and a shocking 1,050 pound-feet of torque. That solidifies the Ford Super Duty truck’s rank as leader of the pack. No other heavy duty truck delivers more torque.
Superior Towing and Hauling
Those numbers don’t mean a thing unless all that power translates to work potential. Lucky for Super Duty owners, that’s the case here. The F-350 tows up to 35,750 pounds when properly configured and can haul more than 7,850 pounds in its bed. Yes, folks, those too are class-leading figures. Because sometimes you have a job that requires nothing less.
Tremor Package
If you’re an avid off-roader and a heavy-duty fan, you get your cake and can eat it too with the Ford Tremor package. This Super Duty option gets your F-250 or F-350 truck ready for mud-slinging action. The package lifts the nose two inches, adds a set of 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac off-road tires on 18-inch black wheels, front axle limited-slip differential, new shocks, and more. Crawl over rocks with multi-setting Trail Control. Get the Tremor on any of these Super Duty trim levels: XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, or Platinum. The Tremor comes as a crew cab and with either the new 7.3-liter gasoline V-8 or the 6.7-liter turbo-diesel under the hood. You can expect to pay about $2,000 for the package.
