The 2023 Ford Fusion Active, an all-new model, is on the horizon. A cross between a classic wagon and crossover SUV, the Fusion Active will breathe new life into family travel. While there’s not a lot we know about this upcoming model, our preview guide gives you some idea of what to expect.
Is the Ford Fusion making a comeback?
Instead of reviving the old school Fusion, which was available as a coupe, sedan, or wagon, the upcoming Fusion Active will be a cross between a Fusion-inspired wagon and a modern crossover.
Like a station wagon, this upcoming model will be a very family-friendly option. Like a crossover SUV, the Fusion Active will have a raised ride height and available all-wheel drive. At least, we assume all-wheel drive will be available, because we’re still waiting to hear the exact details of what the Fusion Active will offer!
Which engines will be available for the 2023 Ford Fusion Active?
In short, we don’t know yet. While we’re waiting for Ford to release the details concerning its Fusion Active, we’re willing to make a few guesses. First of all, we’ve heard that this new crossover could feature either a hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain. It may even offer both of these thrifty options! This new crossover will also likely offer one (or two) of Ford’s EcoBoost engines, turbocharged options that balance thrifty EPA ratings with smooth power.
What features will the 2023 Ford Fusion Active offer?
While we don’t have any official word on which comfort and convenience features will be offered with the Fusion Active, we can take some educated guesses on the matter, based on what we know about other Ford models.
For starters, there will be several Fusion Active trim models, so you can choose the amount of luxury you crave (as well as the amount of money you wish to spend). These days, Ford offers a very robust standard lineup, especially in terms of infotainment and driver safety aids.
The Fusion Active will likely come with the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of safety aids, which will help keep you safe with features that include blind-spot monitoring and forward collision mitigation. New Fords also feature the latest SYNC 4 infotainment system, which treats you to a big touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Hopefully, the Fusion Active will also offer the new hand-free driving system, BlueCruise, which operates on thousands of miles of pre-mapped divided highways.
Like other Fords, this upcoming model will also very likely offer some luxurious upgrades. That means you’ll find leather upholstery, heated seats, and maybe even a panoramic sunroof available!
When will the 2023 Ford Fusion Active be available?
Great question! Unfortunately, though, only time can tell. When Ford makes an official announcement regarding the Fusion Active, we’ll update this space accordingly.
